How to exchange a foreign driving law to a polish driving law

If you have lived in Poland for at least 185 days and have a driving licence issued abroad, it is worth considering exchanging it for a Polish document. If your driving licence was issued in one of the European Union countries, Switzerland, EFTA (European Free Trade Agreement) countries or the United Kingdom before 31 December 2020, you can use it on Polish territory for the entire period of its validity without having to exchange it.

In contrast, a driving licence obtained outside the European Union or EFTA becomes invalid 6 months after permanent or temporary residence in Poland. The same applies to a driving licence issued in the UK after 31 December 2020. In this case, if you are planning a longer stay, you need to ensure that your driving licence is exchanged for a Polish one.
